GU’s relationship with Darren goes back all the way. In the time before releasing professional CDs, GU owners Andy and James had asked him repeatedly to do a mix for one of their early mixtapes. He’d always promised, but never actually did. He’s been a frequent star of the City series since though, so honored his word 3 times over (so far…) in the end.
As a mainstay of the UK scene for over 2 decades, including his role in Underworld during their most influential period, Emerson’s dance music credentials are undisputed. As a label owner he’s broken many seminal club classics and as a post-Underworld producer he’s branched out, with work including the memorable little Balearic smash with Sasha, Scorchio.
