When we came to putting together the third GU After Hours mix, we ran a talent search for new producers via the messageboards of this very website.
Among the many entries, Anil’s track Leftorium (produced with Dale Anderson) stood out instantly as a stunning slice of deep house. What we didn’t expect was that it would go on to outshine music from the likes of Carl Craig and all the other established producers on the release, making its way into the Beatport Top 10, blowing up big time and winning one of their coveted awards in the process.
Obviously we had to sign the lads up for an album! Anil now DJs regularly for GU all over the world, including our main London residency at Ministry of Sound. Cutting his teeth as resident at the infamous Turnmills before, he earned a reputation for his productions and DJing the traditional way – hard graft and bags of talent.
A former Mixmag Future Hero, Anil’s latest project is the D.A.T. Soundsystem project with Dale Anderson and Tim Davison, spinning 6-hour back-to-back sets. Expect to hear a lot more of him on GU and elsewhere in the future.
