Forget the Flats, GU is back at Ministry…

London’s legendary nightclub and home of Global Underground’s flagship party, Ministry of Sound, might have been threatened by developers last week, but we won’t let bad news like that get in the way of a good party.

Global Underground returns to the Elephant & Castle venue on Saturday March 6th 2010, following our blistering New Year’s Day roadblock with Sasha, and it looks like things will be picking up exactly where they left off.

Headlining the Box is Deep Dish man Sharam, making his first London appearance since being crowned for his Essential Mix of 2009 by the listeners of Pete Tong’s Radio 1 mix show. Tom Middleton also returns to GU to test the all new MoS soundsystem with his eclectic, tough selection and our hot new talent Thomas Sagstad joins the main room action too.

With Filth in the Bar and Glovibes in the Loft, plus the DJ Academy in the Baby Box, it’s all set to be a multi-room, multi-sensory smasher of an night. Here’s more info and tickets.

We love having the world’s most iconic club as the home of GU, so the prospect of a block of residential apartments being built directly across the road and threatening its future is an unwanted threat to the venue and the scene we all love. London’s vibrant club music culture has taken a battering from poorly executed development schemes in recent years so let’s not allow the Ministry of Sound to become another victim. Let us know what you think about the news and we’ll see you down there to party as always on the 6th…
